TLDR: pick these guys if you want to be treated like a number instead of a personIf everything went well, I wouldn't be writing this review. High pressure emails telling you to "urgently get XYZ done!" when you've already done it, on top of your loan getting sold to another lender and then to another lender.EDIT: They said they don't sell their client's info to spam factories so I took that part out.It also didn't help that I asked my agent for information on how to pay down the interest rate of my loan and had to wait until a few days before closing to get an answer.Maximus, if I'm writing a review under a pseudonym, then it follows that I'm not willing to contact you directly. If you do end up with a client whose name is Frank Sriracha, please let them know they have a really cool name.

I wish I could give zero stars. Jeff and his team did not do their due diligence and used an application from January 2025. I was trying to purchasein October 2025. They never once asked me to update my creditors. Needless to say in the 10 months from the first credit report in January, things had changed. So three days before settlement they find out. I am not qualified for the mortgage that I want. To be honest, I have been telling them for the entire application process that started in late September that the way they were structuring this loan made me uncomfortable and made me feel I was not qualified. I stated this so many times to my realtor and to the two loan officers. They kept insisting that I was qualified. Well I was not qualified as I was denied, I am OK with that. I would not have been able to afford the mortgage payments on that house. What I am upset about is they did not check on things or ask me about my creditors at all. So here we are three days from settlement. The sellers are pissed off at me and are refusing to give me my down payment back. I filed a complaint against this company with the Better Business Bureau and they send out the big guns to try and intimidate me. Refusing to let me record the phone call so I would have a record of what was said to me. Funny thing is when you call them. The first thing you hear is this call will be recorded. So if you’re looking for a mortgage, stay away from this place.

Where to start with my review of Maximus Mortgage and Laura ! It was my husband and I’s first time buying a house and we had no idea where to start or what to do. We got connected with Laura and instantly after we talked to Laura I knew we were in good hands. Laura is responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and answered our many questions about the process on multiple occasions without hesitation. Laura instantly felt like family to work with! She even attended our closing to celebrate us ! We stayed in contact with Laura over the first almost 2 years of us owning our home waiting for the best time to refinance with the market. There was no question in my mind that we would work with Laura again to refinance our mortgage. Laura was there to explain every step from start to finish. I cannot say enough about Laura and her work ethic! She is truly amazing and we could not be happier with our experience!

Edit to YOUR response: Since you wrote back. You might want to reevaluate the file, my credit was hit twice with one soft/one not. Also, I was not denied for a specific property, as I had not gotten that far in the process, which I stated in my review. You can ask the realtor who we were 30 minutes on the phone with before Laura was blowing up all our phones taking back the approval to have a mortage with Maximus she had just given us after 2 months. "Ultimately another property was purchased" wow thank you so much, yes another property was purchased in JULY when I was working with you guys in March. But you are right ultimately another property was purchased because Fairway Mortage knew how to work with the VA and business owners following the same state rules. Just like your pulled approval you did not take the time to review facts and here we are again. You, being wrong twice has assured me that I went with the correct Mortage company. Also, please do not text my realtor to text me that you are hurt, to ask me to please take down my review so you can stay at 5 stars, try contacting me yourself instead of sending others to do the work. I would say best of luck however, I don't think you deserve even that.Buying a house is stressful, buying a house when you are a military personnel is even more stressful. We thought we could count on Laura but she quickly pulled the rug out from under us after approving us for a mortgage. She ran our credit twice, and then “attended a meeting” and an hour and a half after us getting approval working with them for 2 months she frantically called us and the realtor we were working with to say actually never mind we aren’t approving you and we are pulling the approval. There was no apology for wasting our time and pulling our credit twice. There was just and I quote Laura “at least you know now rather than an hour from now or two hours from now putting down an offer and we pull it then.” That was the last time we spoke to her and we ended up hiring another company (Fairway Independent Mortgage if anyone is interested in a good company.) If you don’t know how to do a mortgage with Entrepreneurs/military then don’t take us on clients, waste our time and hit our credit twice. It was a very stressful time and if it wasn’t for our Realtors (Kait/Angela) we would have given up. Laura, maybe you had a roof over your head so “opps haha better to know now” might work for you but not for a military family without a roof.

I am a fresh immigrant with quite the unique circumstance which Alan explained and guided me for the next steps in order to get a loan and two grants on top of that. Their portal was easy to navigate and precise. I could not say anything bad about Alan as he was with me throughout the whole process and was always available to answer questions.
